Ford Makes the 2018 Focus RS—The Last of Current Gen—Something Even More Special

Reviewers and enthusiasts agree that the current generation of the Ford Focus RS is one of the best hot hatches in the world. But what if we told you that it was leaving? Don’t worry—it’s coming back. The Focus is getting a generational update for 2019, which means the RS model is going to be updated, too. But before it leaves, the Blue Oval is giving it some special gear as a fitting swan song.

Don’t worry, Ford hasn’t changed the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine’s 350 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, AWD, or active torque vectoring. Considered one of the best drivetrains out there, they decided not to mess with the formula too much. Instead, they added a limited-slip differential to the front wheels to prevent wheel slip during acceleration and cornering—as a cherry on top of an already delicious sundae, if you will. Ford has also made once optional packages compulsory, and added new colors to the available palette.

There is one caveat: only 1,000 units will be offered in America. So if you’re interested in ordering the Focus RS for 2018, schedule an appointment with our Ford dealership in Hawley, MN soon before the order books fill up.
