The Ford F-150 Raptor is an off-roading machine that chews through sand, grinds through snow and slogs through mud without missing a beat. In a new review, CNET's Roadshow takes the Raptor on a cross-desert run and the truck performs like it was born to it. Click "play" in the video clip below to watch the full report.

The Raptor features six selectable terrain modes. Normal, Sport and Weather work best on pavement. Off-road terrain modes are Mud/Sand, Baja and Rock. Each mode automatically selects the best transmission, throttle, traction control and steering parameters, but you can override these selections to comply with your own driving style. The truck is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that cranks out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, which is paired with a remarkably smooth effective 10-speed automatic transmission.
