The Blue Oval’s award-winning half-ton pickup truck netted best-in-class titles for towing and torque in 2017, thanks to a new twin-turbo V6 and ten-speed automatic transmission. But if you thought that’s as tough as things would get, the 2018 Ford F-150 is here to prove you wrong. Every engine has been updated, and the long-awaited turbodiesel V6 is arriving—promising even better towing, and class-leading gas mileage.

The numbers for all the new powertrains and updates are a mystery as of now, but we’re promised power, towing, hauling, and efficiency updates across the board. This is thanks in part to a wider availability of the ten-speed automatic transmission, which was designed with that in mind. Both 5.0-liter V8 and 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 will get upgrades, and the naturally-aspired 3.5-liter V6 is being replaced by a 3.3-liter unit. Similar to the new Super Duty, seven all-new grilles will be offered to differentiate the seven different trims.

The 2018 F-150 will arrive later this year, with the diesel version coming next summer. If you’re interested in exploring the new truck and everything it has on tap, contact our Ford dealership in Hawley, MN whenever it’s convenient.
